Critical Role Campaign 4 Unveils the Fighters Party

Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a gripping narrative including angels, fiends, and sinister influences growing in influence within the urban setting.

Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season are included.

The Warrior Group Revealed

Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.

The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).

Dividing the Cast

With a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Warrior Group

Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are rare.

At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.

Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—used the foes for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.

The traitor then paid off his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.

Individual Reasons

Moreover, each adventurer has a individual motive to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
  • Kattigan has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty location.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
  • But, their position as key figures in House Halovar could enable the team access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Additionally, The grateful character pledged a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
  • The warrior and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
  • The target is marked for death by House Halovar.

This results in them no alternative but to travel to the northern region in search of the antagonist.

What’s Next?

According to episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Explorers and Schemers tables.

Fans can expect finding out which adventurers will be where in the season’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on next week.
