Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos confirmed on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
The news of his discharge comes as the boxing community offered condolences for the star in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
